3 straight lousy outings from the top of the rotation against lousy teams.

Perhaps the AS break is coming at a good time.

Is there a better SS than Tejada in the NL? Tulo?

Id say that, but the struggles against the Disastros, Cubs, Rox is truely shocking to thee eyes.

I like what I’ve seen from Zach Cozart.

actually, having published quite a bit, I do know that the subject verb agreement above was appalling. struggles were.

also furcal is pretty good this year

Great story about his defense this year in terms on defensive runs saved or given away. Hes well above league average.

Desmond’s fielding percentage is about the same as last year but UZR likes what it’s seen from him so far…

The other means of evaluation is through video review. Baseball Info Solutions categorizes plays into 30 types of Good Fielding Plays and 50 types of Defensive Misplays & Errors. Tejada entered the day with 17 Good Fielding Plays and eight Defensive Misplays & Errors. Quintanilla, Cedeno, Valdespin and Justin Turner combined for nine Good Fielding Plays and 16 Defensive Misplays & Errors. And, oh by the way, Jose Reyes has 26 Good Fielding Plays and 34 Defensive Misplays & Errors. Tejada’s 17-8 Good/Misplay ratio is well above the MLB average, which is about 1.25 good-per-misplay.

RT may not be the best…but he’s inching his way up there and doing it with little recognition. At 22, he’s got real upside of he can add more muscle mass. I like a lot of what he brings.

Turner is very replaceable.

I like red. but every day I keep wondering who on the Mets will be leaving.

I’ll be forever grateful to Turner for his performance last May but I’m not going to expect that performance from him ever again.

Turner is an acceptable MI backup. I don’t want to denigrate him.

Id lose Cedeno, Q, then red in that order.

Nickeas has got a little Jeff Francoeur in him. Everyone talks about what a great guy he is that they tend to gloss over that their presence in the lineup is counterproductive.

I’d say the comparison is fair, but Nickeas is a catcher while Francoeur was an OF

So Nickeas has more defensive value.

Id be happier with Rob Johnson than Nickeas. I guess platoon Thole and Hernandez. Not so sure thats a great idea.

There’s a reason he’s still here. Because they could have made the move to Johnson at any time

Not sure if it was a matter of him learning anything in Triple-A. It was more of getting his limp bat out of the order.

@ Name, maybe, I’ll tell you one thing, really would’ve liked to have gotten Mex’s full thoughts on IKE – remember, the Cards dealt longtime star Torre to make room for Keith in ’75, who promptly washed out and was sent to the minors to regroup.

Trout is probably the AL MVP so he deserves it. Harper isn’t in considering for anything other than ROY

Just looked back at the game log. What happened to the 2-out Mets?

Trout is batting 343 will 11 HR. Dont think its close between them. Rizzo seems to be making a statement…especically if the cubs could get 15 more games with us!

Interesting thing from my casual recollections. Once the pitching seems to just shut down, then all aspects of the game seem to go with it. Cant field, Cant run, Cant hit.

We’ve seen this from the Mets. One game they’re playing perfect baseball, the next day they lose it and can’t do anything right. It’s just one game
