The 2013 Amateur Draft is less then two months away.  The top ten picks go to:

Houston
Chicago (NL)
Colorado
Minnesota
Cleveland
Miami
Boston
Kansas City
Pittsburgh
Toronto

The forecasting trends for these first ten teams begin to vary early in the projections.  As of right now, the clear choice for the number one pick is Mark Appel (Stanford – RHP).  He is followed by Jonathan Gray (Oklahoma – RHP) and Austin Meadows (Grayson HS – OF).  Picks four through ten are shaping up to be:

Kris Bryant (San Diego – 3B/OF)
Clint Frazier (Loganville HS – OF)
Sean Manaea (Indiana State – LHP)
Kohl Stewart (St. Plux X HS – RHP)
Trey Ball (New Castle HS – LHP/OF)
Ryne Stanek (Arkansas – RHP)\nJon Denney (Yukon HS – C)

If none of these players slip below the Top Ten, who might be a likely draft candidate for the Mets at number eleven?  Here are some players to consider:

Hmmn, I live close to Rye where Colin Moran is from.

  • Jim OMalley

Thanks…I believe he is playing for the Tar Heels. Have you seen him play?

    • Dan Stack

Nah, I just remember him being a nephew of Surhoff. A lot of people in my area do go down to UNC to play ball. Which BTW might rub Brian the wrong way. He’s an NC State guy. lol

Good article but I really like it when you write things about the old Mets….for instance, did Al Weiss’s home run ball really fly into the window of
Scotts car on the Grand Central??

  • Willis

    Austin Wilson or McGuire
