Well Thanksgiving is only one day away, and it will be a much needed break from all the Mets news and rumors that has been circulating lately.

It’s been a long off-season already, and the Winter Meetings haven’t even begun. Panic is setting in for many fans and they believe that no moves will be made.

Every rumor that gets talked about comes with comments that “Sandy will never do that”, “Sell the team”, “another missed opportunity by the Mets.” It’s an endless onslaught of comments and tweets that will make your eyes bleed.

Mets twitter is a place to go when you are extremely bored. Once you get there, you’ll regret it. Don’t do it unless you have too.

This break will give everyone a bit of time away from the news and rumors, maybe potential change some opinions.

For me, it’s a break from it all. The minute I wake up until the minute I go to bed, I am consistently checking every site possible to get my Mets news. It’s how I’m wired. This is how much the team means to me, and I’m sure to all of you out there. But, this stuff can drive a person mad. There are some out there who are just so disconnected with the reality of it all, it irritates me.

I hope you all do the same. Most likely nothing will happen over these next two to three days, so it will be nice to enjoy quality time with family and friends. Then after it all, we can go back to arguing and disagreeing about the future of this team. And the Winter Meetings will just fuel the fire even more, as rumors will circulate faster than ever before.

Our love for our team will bring us back here soon enough, to continue the great dialogue we have each and every day on this site. And all of these posts make us smarter fans, as we learn about this team together.

So, I thank all of you today for allowing me to share my opinions with you and having a conversation about the Mets.  It’s a dream come true to be able to do this. So let’s take a day off and forget about this team and focus on what’s most important, family.  And I’m sure just like me; you’ll sneak a look at the news on Thanksgiving, but we can keep that a secret.

Great thoughts, terrific suggestions, don’t think you or i will be able to follow through on this without sneaking around a bit

Happy holidays to one and many, not all

    Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

And Mets fans should be patient to some degree. It’s still early in the offseason, if Christmas rolls around and the team doesn’t look improved, then I think criticism could be more justified.
