Mystery Met 12

We’re just a couple of days away from August, that hot and holiday-free bastard of a month. The air is thick with humidity, and damn if the Mets are not in the thick of a pennant race.

The GM has made a couple of minor but meaningful moves to date, bringing in some versatile bats and shoring up a bullpen that would otherwise be reeling from a repeat PED suspension.

So in honor of the addition of Tyler Clippard to the relief corps, our Mystery Met this time around is one of his astigmatic forebears.

Guess his horn-rimmed identity, and win a small sampling of 2015 Mets cards…

      I thought Ken M. was a lefty.

I don’t recall him wearing glasses.

      Doug has me stumped.

MacKenzie was a lefty but wouldn’t be the first player to screw around with a Topps photographer. LOL Check the picture.

The minute I saw it I knew that was Ken MacKenzie. I collected full sets in the early 60’s by flipping and scaling the cards like all boys did. I also kknow that MacKenzie was a lefty but don’t know if he pranked Topps or the plate got reversed. Thanks Doug for the memories.

It would make sense that it would be MacKenzie. But to me the glasses look different than what he had in his ’63 Topps card.

This is not Ken MacKenzie, but it’s possible that this gent shopped at JC Penney optical with Ken.

I confess that this one is insanely hard, so I’m going to leave it here to marinate for a while longer…
