Post Game Quotes:

Jeff Francoeur (on Ike Davis‘ power):

“[Davis] crushed that one. He’s got stupid pop. I said to David, ‘Mine went farther.’ David said, ‘Mine went out faster.’ Then Ike hits that one, and we both shut up.”

Jerry Manuel (on Mets hitting):

“What was good to see, obviously, was Frenchy hitting a home run on a breaking ball, and David Wright‘s two-strike home run was impressive. He fouled off tough pitches, hung in there and hit it out. Reyes didn’t get on base and to score six runs without Jose Reyes being the centerpiece, that’s a good sign.”

Jason Bay (on getting his 1,000th career hit):

“If I string together 15 more good years in a row I’ll hit that 3,000 mark, be good to go.”

Rod Barajas (on Mets success):

“It’s probably not what people expected. It’s probably not even what people in here expected. It’s a great story. We’re not doing it with a star-studded lineup. We’ve got some great players, guys you rely on, but the guys who aren’t the faces of the organization are stepping up.”
