homer-dohYou can’t win ’em all. Noah Syndergaard came up empty in one of his worst performances of the year, surrendering five earned runs on eight hits and three walks. He couldn’t finish the fourth inning. Meanwhile the Mets couldn’t do much against the struggling Aaron Blair, save a two-run home run from TJ Rivera. It didn’t help that Matt Kemp made two diving catches and Yoenis Cespedes twice missed hitting a home run by a whisker. Going 0-7 with RISP certainly didn’t help matters. Curtis Granderson and James Loney were bright spots with three hits apiece, The Mets bullpen surrendered another two runs in relief and, no surprise, the biggest offensive culprit was perennial Met killer Freddie Freeman who contributed four hits, including a home run and a double. Wouldn’t it be great if we could find a way to trade for him in the off-season so we’d never have to face him again?

As of this writing, the Cardinals and Giants were both winning, so the wild card race will be as tight as a wet pair of sneakers going into tomorrow’s rematch with the Braves. The pitching match-up has not yet been formally announced.

Didn’t see much go wrong for the Braves tonight. Sometimes it’s not your night. Matt covered it pretty well. Swanson got jammed and blooped a two run single with two outs, and Freeman hit a homerun the other way and a two run double – away again – on a pitch ready to bounce on the right side of the plate.

    Isn’t it Gsellman’s turn tomorrow?

My life is so boring that I was actually trying to remember the rotation earlier when I was in the shower. That’s why I thought it was Gsellman.

When Name used the g-word two days ago, I thought, “uh-oh.”

    Giants pen blows another.

Stay with the formula and win this series from the Braves. TJ Rivera keeps hitting and forcing himself into the 2017 decision making process. It is similar to what Flores has also done in the second half prior to his injury.
I hate FFF! Lets Go Mets!

Just a heads up, the offense has been really just barely getting the job done during the recent stretch. Barely. And of course, not at all last night against a guy with exactly 0 wins and an 8+ ERA. Lets hope this week-long funk ends soon.
