Here are the Mets’ results this year:

Started 7-3
Then went 1-10
Then went 8-3
Then went 0-7

And then they won Friday night. No wonder we all have acute schizophrenia paranoia blues.

Here in third week of May, what's your take on the Mets?

Thanks for bringing in The Kinks to rescue this situation!

There’s no situation that The Kinks can’t make better!

Maybe it’s time to reassess things. Should Granderson and Reyes be playing every day? Should Duda start against lefties? Maybe give Flores and Lagares 20-25 starts and if they don’t produce think about moving on. Think about trading Bruce, Reed,Blevins,Walker at the deadline. Give Rosario,Smith,Cechini shots this summer.

I sometimes like to wonder about the greatest four-album sequence — back to back to back to back — ever put out by a band.

Hard to top this period, from 1966-69 from the Kinks: Face to Face, Something Else, The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, and Arthur.

Of course, there’s the Stones from Beggar’s Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, to Exile on Main Street.

Stevie Wonder also had an incredible run from Talking Book to Song In the Key of Life . . .

But, yeah, I have a special love for that remarkable run by the Kinks.

And the next album was Lola vs Powerman. Plus you have singles and rarities that didn’t make it onto albums like a lot of the stuff on Kinks Kronikles and Great Lost Kinks Album that was from the same time period.

I think we have to put The Who in here, too

      The Who Sell Out
      Tommy
      Who’s Next
      Quadrophenia

With Live at Leeds in there, too.

And I’m partial to solo Neil Young, whose first 8 solo albums (including a live album) are all great.

How about that great run by the Yanks? The Core Four,Bernie,O’Neill, Tino were remarkable.

Frustrated, but when the pitching comes around, they will make the playoffs. The offense is there but the starting pitching needs to provide distance to make it easier to get to Blevins and Reed.
