On occasion, you may see a blot of orange occupying the Big Apple Reserve seating section at Citi Field. This group of Mets fans is often known for being relentless and ferocious towards opposing teams, and also having undying loyalty for their team. They are known as the 7line Army, and they go to not only home games, but they also travel to see the team play away games. If you have not sat with them before but are interested in, here is a first hand experience for not only an away game, but also a home game.

During the magical 2015 season, the 7line offered a trip to PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to see the Mets play the Pirates. My father and I jumped on the opportunity, and took the six-hour drive to Pittsburgh. The offered a meeting spot at a local bar, and then we walked in to the park as one large group. Buying a ticket through the 7line to an away game usually gets you a ticket to the game, a tee shirt, and thunder sticks for fun. Chants of “Let’s Go Mets!” rip through the crowd, often to the point that it garners a reaction from the opposing fans. It is awesome to be able to go to an away game, yet feel like you’re on friendly territory. For a Mets fan who wants to travel to support their team and see other stadiums, the 7line is an option that can’t be overlooked.

If you are a fan that would rather stay local, the 7line will cater to you as well. They also offer home outings, which is a great way to enjoy Citi Field at a new pace. In the Big Apple Reserve Section, an atmosphere that can be likened to that of a supporter’s section at a soccer game is created. Fans go crazy, creating outrageous signs about players and coaches of the Mets and opposing teams alike. They always start the event off with a tailgate before the game, which is a great way to interact and meet other Mets fans. Once inside the stadium, you will hear chants of “He struck him out!” as well as jeers towards the opposing outfielders. The atmosphere is unlike any that you will experience at a baseball game. The fans around you make you want to stand, and they often make you feel an edge that is uncommon to a regular season game.

Mets fans are the greatest in the world, and having this company dedicated to the team is something that they have that is as unique as they are. Whether you are a fan of their Mets-exclusive products or not, it cannot be argued that this company is known league wide for their presence at games. They are even featured in the latest licensed baseball game, MLB The Show 17. The Orange Blob that they create in the Big Apple Reserve is present whenever you play at Citi Field. The bottom line is that you’re looking for an experience that is unique to Major League Baseball, look no further than the opportunity to roll with the 7line Army. You might meet some great people, but you will have the time of your life rooting for your favorite team.

They are a force! I no longer live in New York but I try my best to take in a Met game during the season. Atlanta, Washington, Miami and Pittsburgh have been on my past itinerary but the most remarkable experience was at Camden Yards, August 17,2015 when the 7 Line Army was there. They took up two sections in the left field corner and Baltimore never knew what invaded them. There were so many other Mets fans at the game that when I called my hotel desk for a cab to the game, a van showed up and out of the hotel 10 Met fans along with my wife and I in our colors piled in. The fan attendance seemed about 40% at the game. Everywhere were Met fans. I was not a part of the 7 Line Army crowd but their presence made me feel like I was back at Shea.

I love going to games on my own, but I’ve got to imagine this is an experience. Meet lots of new friends too?
