The Indians win streak means a local company has to give $1.7 million back to fans

Since his company is 15-years old this year, Universal Windows Direct CEO William Barr decided to put together a fun offer for customers who love Cleveland’s baseball team — or just wanted to gamble on free and discounted windows and see what happened.

The promotion went as such: anybody who bought windows during the month of July would get a rebate for their entire purchase if the Indians went on a 15-game win streak or longer any time after Aug. 1.

Fortunately, the company took out a $75,000 insurance policy. I’m guessing the increased business during the promotion and the the national attention since the Indians reached it makes this an overwhelming positive for the company.
