In his last five games, Zack Wheeler has limited batters to a .615 OPS and a .262 wOBA. With a .300 BABIP, he has a 3.00 ERA, a 2.66 FIP and a 3.08 xFIP. Of course, his overall numbers are still being dragged down considerably by his first two starts against the Nationals.

Lifetime against Washington, in 15 games he is 4-9 with a 5.01 ERA. He’s faced seven different teams at least five times in his career and his ERA against the Nats is 1.82 runs higher than against any of the other clubs in that group. He’s done well against the other NL East clubs, with a 3.07 ERA against the Phillies, 3.19 against the Braves and a 1.89 mark against the Marlins.

A bit off topic, but can someone please tell me why, when the Mets are on the road and a player experiences some health issue he’s sent back to NY for testing (Matz) ? Can’t tests like MRIs , etc be done where they are ? Is NY the only city with MRI machines? It’s not like MRI results cannot be sent from Milwaukee to a NY doctor…maybe there’s an explanation that makes sense but it makes no sense to me

I feel it is time to make some changes. No Chris f it isn’t Panic City yet but this team is 2 below 500 when they should be at least 3 above 500.
The first move is to sign Keuchel.
AH at shortstop. He is producing better defensive and Rosario isn’t reproducing enough offense to justify his weak defense.
JD Davis should be playing over Frasier.
I would give more playing time Lagares because he is better defensively and Nimmo has offensive problem.
Callaway needs to address these problems forthwith or else we are going to revisit 2018.
I am not giving up on Rosario or Nimmo, but they haven’t been doing the job and season is slipping away.
I think they are still a contender so there is no need for Panic City!

Its not that the team is 2 under .500 Metsense, thats still a hangover from a relatively strong start (5 W, 2 L), much like last year. Dating back to 6 April, one month ago, the Mets have lost 17 of 26 games, for a 9-17 record (thats a .346 winning percentage). Say anything you want, but the “better than the record” story is a stale memory from the Alderson days. This team is slipping toward irrelevance in a hurry. Yes, its only 6 May, but we have real troubles with SP, defense, and hitting. If this sounds familiar, it should. Although we escaped with releivers recently, I dont think you can expect a Gagnon, Peterson, Avilan, Gsellman, Flexen, Familia juggernaut for the long term.

They are not signing Keuchel with the draft pick. Put that to rest. I just look at your solutions to the present problem: play JD Davis, play Juan Lagares, play Hecheverria…if thats the answer…the problem is pretty serious.

On another note, went to the D Bulls day game today. Good matchup between Allard and Yarbrough.

On one more note, its early May and they are running out of pitchers already.

This is deja vu of last year. God start and then they suck.

They haven’t Pitched and Hit on the same night very much, and their recent 10 games have been showing the toll of some bad health and struggling bats.

Otherwise, I’m worried about their stock of tradeable players for Pennant Chase Parts.

This team needs a Big Cuban RH Bat
