The Mets clubbed three home runs to back the strong pitching of Marcus Stroman, which resulted in a 6-1 win Tuesday night in Denver. The victory tied the series 1-1, and they’ll play the rubber game Wednesday afternoon.

The game was scoreless through five innings before the Mets broke out in the sixth. Amed Rosario hit a two-run homer, while Brandon Nimmo and Pete Alonso added solo shots. It was the 48th HR of the year for Alonso. The rookie later added an RBI single and now has driven in 111 runs for the season, 13 behind the franchise record for most RBIs for a single season.

Stroman allowed just four hits and a walk over his seven scoreless innings. The Mets are now 6-3 in Stroman’s nine starts but most of those victories have come thanks to an offensive outburst, rather than good pitching. But Stroman now has a Quality Start in three of his last four outings.

Todd Frazier returned to the lineup after sitting the past two games and kept up his solid offense with two hits, a run and an RBI. Michael Conforto went 0-3 and is now batting .161 (9-56) in the month of September.

Coincidently, the Mets beat the Rockies by the same score.

Seriously, is this the real Stroman?
