In his first PA since July 26, Dominic Smith belted a 3-run homer to lift the Mets to a 7-6 win in extra innings against the Braves. The win gave the Mets a sweep of the series and allowed them to finish the year 10 games above .500 at 86-76.

The Braves took the lead in the top of the 11th with back-to-back homers off Walker Lockett. He was relieved by Chris Mazza, who earned his first win in the majors.

The Mets held a one-run lead entering the ninth inning but Paul Sewald served up a gopher ball to Adeiny Hechavarria to send the game to extra innings. Seth Lugo was seemingly unavailable after pitching two innings Friday night, Justin Wilson hadn’t pitched since the Mets were eliminated and the Mets opted not to use Edwin Diaz on back-to-back days.

J.D. Davis cracked his 22nd homer of the year to give the Mets a 3-1 lead in the first inning and Joe Panik, appearing in his last game as a Met, homered in the eighth to give the Mets a one-run lead.

Noah Syndergaard, possibly pitching in his last game as a Met, allowed 3 ER in 7 IP, the first time in five games he completed at least six innings.
