The Mets lost their fourth straight game, dropping a 7-1 decision to the Braves Saturday night in Atlanta.
After jumping out to an 8-2 lead on Friday, the Mets fell in a big hole early and never really threatened to make it a game. Michael Wacha allowed five runs in the first two innings. He hung around to give the team four innings but it required 96 pitches to get 12 outs.
Franklyn Kilome made his MLB debut in relief of Wacha. He also threw four innings, keeping the rest of the beleaguered pen from having to trudge out there again and get beat around. Kilome was consistently in the mid 90s and fanned five without giving up a walk. But he allowed two runs, including a solo homer.
The offensive highlights were few and far between. Robinson Cano was the hitting star, with two hits and a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to drive in the Mets’ only run. Cano has a .393/.438/.571 slash line . Michael Conforto also had two hits and Brandon Nimmo reached base three times, scoring the Mets’ only run.
The less said about the rest of the hitters, the better. Amed Rosario continues to struggle. An 0-4 night leaves him batting .200 with a .543 OPS.
The Mets hope that a day game tomorrow will change their luck. David Peterson looks to build on his promising debut and build a case to remain in the rotation once Marcus Stroman returns.

Another season and another round of anemic hitters. 9 games in and this is already getting old
