Too many Mets fans were all gloom and doom after they got swept by the Marlins a few days ago so hopefully a sweep of the hated Yankees gets those fans to back away from the ledge. And if a sweep by itself wasn’t good enough, how about one where the Mets collected come-from-behind wins in both games? Who saw that coming? After earning a 6-4 win in the opener, the Mets pulled out a 4-3 victory in the nightcap.

In the nightcap, the Mets fell behind 3-1 and got a run back in the fifth inning when Brandon Nimmo delivered an RBI double. Trailing by a run in the seventh, Jeff McNeil worked a walk from Aroldis Chapman. Billy Hamilton came on as a pinch-runner and proceeded to get picked off. But Hamilton beat the throw to second base. Amed Rosario then delivered a pinch-hit homer for the walk-off win.

In the opener, the Mets fell behind 4-0. They scratched across a run in the fifth inning and then broke out the long ball in the sixth. Pete Alonso crushed a three-run homer to center field to tie the game and two batters later Dominic Smith and Jake Marisnick went back-to-back to give the Mets a two-run lead.

As bad as the starting pitchers were for the Mets in both games, that’s how good the bullpen was. Michael Wacha started the opener and gave up 4 ER in 3 IP. In the nightcap, David Peterson allowed 3 ER in 4 IP. But the pen combined for seven scoreless innings in the two games. Mets relievers surrendered just three hits and produced 10 Ks, including three by Edwin Diaz in the seventh inning of Game 1.

The Mets have now won three in a row while the Yankees have lost seven straight games.

Hi guys (had trouble earlier getting chat to work ) …….Yes Network just posted stories that Cohen buying the Mets are in ‘The final stages ” .

Mets reporter Anthony Dicomo reporting this >>>>> “Amed Rosario says he forgot the Mets were the “home” team at Yankee Stadium. He didn’t realize he had just won the game until he saw his teammates piling out of the dugout in celebration.”

Today was a good day. Yes, I walked back from the cliff.

    Nice wins.

I am glad to hear Cohen is buying the team. He is buying it to win. I dont know if I could have dealt with Arod and Jlo. I mean where would we be when the shine wears off and they break up.

Interesting to see if BVW makes any moves. Wouldnt mind even a decent relief pitcher that has at least one more year in his contract.

Gut Reaction: As Casey Stengel said, “Amazing, Amazing , Amazing”
Amazing first game when slumping Alonso hits the tieing homerun and Amazing second game when the slumping Rosario hits the walk off homerun. The final Amazing was that it was at Yankee Stadium with the Mets being the home team.
Rojas is not afraid to juggle the lineup and move struggling players lower in the order.
Nice game by the bullpen, not so hot by the starters.
Another clutch hit by Dom. He has made himself to be a good player. Last year he show he was a good teammate when he was injured. More importantly, as a person, he is admired and respected.

Ha, I had the same reaction as Amed. I was wondering why the team was pouring out on the field. Ironically, I tuned into game 1 in the 7th inning and wondered why Diaz was in the game and pondering who was going to pitch the 8th and 9th. At this point, I am more relieved avoiding losses to the Yankees than excited about the wins. What a strange year.
