Just when you think 2020 can’t get any worse, I found out today that friend of the site Warren Zvon has passed away.

On September 2, 2020 we lost a good one.

Warren Zvon was a Mets Fan, an Artist, and a blogger.

He grew in Queens NY then worked for the Post Office in South Jersey.

The above link has some examples of Warren’s work, which you should check out if you’ve never seen before. Of course, you could easily spend hours at his website — which I encourage you to do.

This news hits me hard. I loved Warren’s work and while he’s not the only one who updates classic baseball cards, he was one of the best.

I truly hope that at some point, they’ll release a set of these updated classic cards. Yes, I know that Topps has their Heritage sets and those are very cool. But I’d love to be able to go to a store and pick up a pack of 1967 cards, hoping to pull a Tom Seaver rookie card, one with the original design of the card but a better picture of the player.

And if that ever comes to pass, I’ll think of Warren.

OMG. That’s just terrible. Such a creative and talented force, and a great person. Z, you will be missed around here.
