Carlos Carrasco was bad and Chasen Shreve was worse, putting the Mets in a nine-run hole and leading to the team’s third-straight loss to the Astros, this one by a 9-1 score.

Hopefully you were lucky like me and missed this game. Can’t win ’em all and it looks like fans were put out of their misery early with this one. If nothing else, the righty relievers that seem to be low in the pecking order gave multiple scoreless innings.

Gut Reaction: Carrasco started the fire and Shreve put gasoline on it.
The last three of four Carrasco starts the Mets weren’t competitive because of him. Of his 15 starts, he gave up 5 or more runs, five times. He better pick it up or he might lose his rotation spot. Peterson is making a bid when Scherzer gets back. Peterson has 9 starts and he hasn’t given up 5 runs in any one of them. As for Sherve, three of four of his last appearances he has given up 3 or more runs. For a reliever that is death or DFA.
Let’s win today and be done with this difficult June. LGM
