The 2011 Mets finished under .500 but they had an 88-game stretch where they played at a .568 clip (50-38). That got me wondering what the best stretch for wins in franchise history was for the Mets. A 20-5 mark is more impressive here than a 25-7 record, since the former’s winning percentage is higher.

Ed Lynch was a member of the 84 Mets.. He was traded by the Mets on June 30, 1986 and said he felt like he was a kid kicked out of the house on Christmas morning.
