Time to put yesterday's ugliness behind us.
Please use this chatter for both games of the doubleheader
Who would've thought we'd have a lineup where Luis Guillorme batted ahead of both Wilson Ramos and Amed Rosario?
Maybe the starting pitchers for tonight can each go five innings.
Jeff McNeil returns as DH, Robinson Cano to 2B, Amed Rosario to SS and the G-Men infielders to the bench. Pete Alonso back at 1B and batting sixth.
2020 RP -- 19 IP, 5.68 ERA, 3.19 FIP, 1.632 WHIP ZW -- 18.2 IP, 2.89 ERA, 3.78 FIP, 1.286 WHIP
Wow, Tomas Nido gets the start for the second time in three games. Also, Luis Guillorme is in the lineup but Andres Gimenez is not. Amed Rosario is batting 7th.
How much do the Mets want to avoid giving Seth Lugo a start? We're now on our fourth opportunity and it's been a hard pass each time. Michael Wacha got the first call, David Peterson the second, Robert Gsellman the third and now Walker Lockett the fourth. There's still Franklyn Kilome and Thomas Szapucki. So, [...]
With Marcus Stroman opting out, David Peterson is no longer pitching for a spot in the rotation. Let's hope he doesn't get complacent but instead looks to mimic Jacob deGrom's daytime success.
Seth Lugo can't go into the rotation because he's not stretched out but Robert Gsellman, who's thrown a total of *1* IP since August 12, 2019 - there's no problem starting him. It's madness. At least Andres Gimenez gets the start over Amed Rosario.
Both Alonso and Rosario getting the night off. Can Porcello turn in two consecutive strong starts?
By all means, let's bat the guy with a .226 AVG and a .226 OBP first in the order. The law of averages indicate he's due to get on base any day now.
