We’re nothing but a long nap away from summer at this point, so I’m going to give you a tough one to ponder whilst you sip your lemonade/roll hoops/catch dragonflies/cavort in fire hydrants.

First person in the comments to name the Mets player pictured here wins a sweet PSA 7 1969 Topps Dan Frisella.

Jump on this one quickly– entries will only be accepted through midnight this Friday, June 21.

Best of luck!

Looks like a young Rick Peterson, but I’m guessing not.

Metstheory22 left this comment on the photo, rather than the article:

John Strohmayer. We got him off waivers from Montreal and pitched for Mets 1973-4.

Boy, do Mets360 readers know their stuff! It is indeed John Strohmayer.

It does look like Rick Peterson. So what card is this photo from?

  • Doug Parker

The photo is actually from an unused 1974 Topps negative– Strohmayer never appeared on a Topps card in a Mets uni. (He was in the 1971-1973 sets with the Expos.)
