Wednesday, Bartolo Colon had a perfect game through 6.2 innings, retiring the first 20 batters he faced. While he did not complete a masterpiece, it did bring to mind a thought: Would the perception of fans change if he did throw the franchise’s first perfect game? In all seriousness, would you be able to pull the trigger and deal a player the same season he tossed a perfect game? So, let’s have a poll question:

Fact is the 2015 rotation is over-crowded with more promising names.
Time to get what we can, lose the financial burden and move on ASAP.
I think there should be an add-on poll.
If Bartolo Colon pitched a perfect game, would another team be more interested in acquiring him?
No.
Teams would probably be worried that he threw so many pitches to get it done. A la Santana’s no-hitter.

Wilmer Flores recalled, with Kirk N sent down. Yet, Chris Young remains in the line up going for a sub .200 average with 500 plate appearances?
🙁
Absolutely ! … The man is 41 years old..get what you can now
Last winter, the signing of Colon was the kind of move a playoff contending team would make. Sandy stopped making moves midway through last winter to get to that level. Stopping before completing the winter overhaul has made the Colon signing a poor move.
I would trade Colon and his $11M future obligation in a hearbeat except that makes me heartless. I would therefore trade him in a NY minute.
Not only him, but Gee as soon as he straightens out. These guys aren’t part of the next winning Mets team.
