“All of these league statements today are fig leaves for money grabs. The leagues and unions want payoffs so as to not stand in the way of what will be, in the short term, a fractious process. ‘Nice legal market for sports betting you’ve got there…it’d be a shame if anything happened to it.’ The leagues and unions (and the criminal cartel known as the NCAA) have opposed sports betting on specious grounds of ‘integrity’ for decades. Turning around now with an open palm is shameful behavior that should be mocked.
“Rob Manfred, who runs the league currently subsidizing intentional losing in 20% of its markets, had the gall to say that ‘Our most important priority is protecting the integrity of our games.'”
