So many times we talk about a player on a hot streak and we’ll use the phrase, “the hits are falling in.” Right now we’ve got a guy on a hot streak with a sub-.300 BABIP. Michael Conforto in his last 134 PA has a .938 OPS with a .284 BABIP. He’s got 15 BB in this span, which has helped him to a .373 OBP, 95 points above his AVG in this stretch. And 14 of his 32 hits have gone for extra-bases, including 9 HR.
Conforto is back on the pace he had prior to his concussion in mid-May. He’s going to end up with a very strong year but we’re still going to wonder what type of numbers he might have put up if Robinson Cano hadn’t collided with him.
Interesting info on Conforto.
The Mets need to hit for deGrom today. Failure is not an option.

The game tonight could be the fork in their season, a must win game.
With the Mets winning so much the calls for chopping Callaway have diminished greatly – though with the 5 straight losses and facing a consecutive sweeps I imagine the call for Callaway’s dismissal aren’t far behind.
I read this, thought it was worth passing on from SNY:
The hot seat isn’t nearly as warm for Mets manager Mickey Callaway after his team turned things around in a big way following the All-Star break.
If the Mets don’t end up cracking the postseason, it’s unclear what would happen with Callaway. But we now know what Jeff McNeil thinks, at least.
McNeil gave his skipper a big vote of confidence on Wednesday.
“(Callaway) deserves a lot of credit. We love playing for him. He’s a lot of fun. He keeps the clubhouse loose, keeps it fun, has meetings when you have to have meetings. I credit a lot to him. He’s done a great job,” McNeil told WFAN.
Mets are shaking up their scouting department. Jim D’Aloia, director of Pro Scouting was let go as well as others.
