My son got a last-minute gig Friday night. I saw the first batter in the bottom of the fifth and when I left, the Mets had an 8-2 lead. You can view the Game Chatter for confirmation if you don’t believe me. I blame the rest of you for what happened next.
On the cable channel guide, Fox Sports showed Mets vs Braves at 7 pm. When I turned it on, a tennis show was on. I was annoyed.
I am glad that I didn’t watch it. My health would have been in jeopardy and my TV would have been turned over.
If the season continues, of course, I hope that it turns around. But if it doesnt and we fall way behind, we could use the season as a major league tryout for our young prospects. A lot of teams are doing this already from the start. I like Gimenez and it would be great to see Peterson continue to pitch well (okay, it was only 1 start). We will see what Kilome can do.
Yes, I have suffered through periods of ineptness over the last 50+ seasons, but I still love the team.
I hope that all of you and your families are ok. Baseball is a great diversion to the problems we all face. I hope that the season is able to continue.
Gut Reaction: I wasn’t as lucky as Mike because I didn’t get a Blackout and watched it in its entirety.
Hey, don’t blame me blame Betances.
At least you enjoyed Burnt Biscuits. I had burnt toast!
