The Brewers went with a bullpen game. The Mets responded with a total of two hits. The end result was a 6-0 loss Saturday night in Milwaukee. The Brewers are now 11-1 against the Mets since the start of the 2023 season. A month or two ago, it was pointed out how the Brewers owned the Mets. And people scoffed. Are you still scoffing?
Maybe they’ll score some runs on Sunday. Regardless, the Mets’ best hope of making the playoffs is likely a Padres sweep. Currently, the SD-ARI game is scoreless in the 7th.
“Maybe they’ll score some runs on Sunday.“
Not likely, and not likely against the Brewers!
Padres came through to keep us tied with Arizona. A sweep would be nice. Hate that the Braves are ahead of us and will likely take the #2 WC spot. Got to win tomorrow to put pressure on the DBacks. So if the Mets win and the DBacks lose seems the Mets will still need to play two on Monday. We deserve better!
0-3? Don’t deserve better
The rain in Atlanta was a bad break for the Mets, but their play this week has shown it may not have mattered.
The DBacks lost. So they are still tied. If the Mets win and the DBacks lose the Mets are in the playoffs ans even getting swept in Atlanta won’t matter because the Mets hold the tiebreaker. If the Mets and DBacks both lose, the Mets back into the playoffs due to holding the tiebreaker. If the Braves also lose, but the others win, they are tied again. Fun stuff!
Seems if the Mets and DBacks both lose the Mets would need to sweep the Braves to keep the tie because two loses on Monday would’ve give them one more loss than the DBacks. If the Mets win and DBacks lose would they have to still play 2 on Monday on the miracle that they sweep the Braves and take the #2 spot? They should never have been in this position. What we have here is a failure to score runs.
I think it’s clear the Mets will lose all 3 games and miss the post season.
