Today’s a day for all Mets fans to look back at what was a very strong year for the club. Did any of us expect to be in the NLCS this year? Certainly not me.

Anyway, today is Joe Vasile’s day to publish and hopefully he has a piece that will be published later tonight. In the meantime, let me give you a new update.

Earlier, the first post at Knicks360 was published. If you’re a fan of the Knicks, please stop by and give it a read. And if you like it, please consider subscribing. The hope is to start out publishing twice a week.

Right now, the plan is to introduce sites for the Vikings and NC State, too. It’s impossible to say when those will debut but hopefully before too much longer – certainly by the end of the year.

The Game Chatters were moved to Substack as Phase One of moving the entire Mets360 site to that platform. Starting this Knicks blog is Phase Two, which is more about me learning about how to use the site. I’d rather make mistakes and learn with the Knicks site than with Mets360.

Change is always difficult and please know that this is being done after a lot of consideration on my part. There were several factors that went into this – including a cost-saving measure for me, better technology available for the readers and the ability to grow the site even further as part of the Substack community.

And that last word is going to be a key tenet for when the site moves fully to Substack – community. It was so rewarding for me to see all of the comments we had in the playoff Game Chatters, which were regularly in the 300s and topped out at 524 comments. My hope is that more people will participate in the Chatters moving forward and my hope is to get more comments on the regular articles, too.

Finally, if you have any ideas on what would make for a stronger, more vital Mets360 community – please let me know below. Thanks!

Glutton for punishment!!! Good luck with all the ventures. Excited for you.

Thanks again for making M360 such a great place to learn, cheer, and commiserate the Orange and Blue.

So with you on the chatters. I think I miss that as much as the games themselves. If youve never been in the chatters, its such a great time.

4 months to Pitchers and Catchers. Lets hope that we have a boatload of new arms who attack the strike zone.

    Terrific season

Another fun year on Mets360.com. Loved throwing in my monthly article, loved the comments made on those spots, and loved the interaction of our members. We are all amateur sports writers or broadcasters at heart and this site gives you the chance to put all that to the test. As we ruminate on what might have been and ponder off season acquisitions to bring us to the next level, let’s all stay engaged on this site and have lots more people provide new stories and viewpoints.
At 750 words a month it’s not hard to do once you get an article going. And if you think you are alone in this venture, wait till you get the first comments back from Brian, pointing out grammar, spelling, and challenging you to write something that we just didn’t read in yesterday’s paper. Brian‘s patience with me has made me a much better writer which benefits everyone to get a better product before it’s published.

Then there is the game chats where we get to whine, complain, cheer and commiserate with each other on our favorite topics – The Mets in live time. As a suffering NY fan, looking forward to Brian’s entries on the NY Knicks. I’ve lived through their few championship and as with the Mets, long for more.

Fortunately, in baseball, there is activity all season long. Can’t wait for the end of this World Series, the beginning the GM meetings the movement of free agents, and as Chris advised, only 4 short months until pitchers and catchers report.

    Let’s Go Mets!!!

Expections were low in March, lower in May.
Delighted to make the postseason, surprised by WC series victory & acutely satisfied by a division win over the Phillies. Dared to hope for more but had that “house money” freedom of angst. I feel like I had a good meal and am ready for a nap.
Grew up a few blocks from Ebbets, but the Divas are not the Bums. I might catch a few innings if the Turner Classic Movie is airing anything with Ernest Borgnine–otherwise, bring on the Winter Meetings.
There is some urgency though. I’ll be 80 before Spring Training and would like to taste 1955, 1969 and/or 1986 once more.
And thanks Brian & gang for the ride.
