Mets pitchers have now gone 63 ABs without producing a hit. In honor of this dubious distinction, we’re running a contest to see how long the streak lasts. Predict the following three things:
1. How many hitless ABs will the pitchers wind up with in 2014
2. Who will be the pitcher to get the first hit for the club
3. Will it be a single, double, triple or homer
The contest will remain open until a pitcher gets a hit. However, no guesses will be allowed that come less than an hour before a game’s regularly scheduled contest. So, if you predict that Zack Wheeler will get a hit in his first trip to the plate Tuesday, your guess must be in no later than 6:05 PM Tuesday.
Each person is limited to three guesses.
Winner will receive the admiration of his peers, along with his name in a headline identifying him as a winner.
Good luck!
404…Gee. ..double
I predict it won’t be tonight 🙂
Montero on wed 5/14 a homerun
mets pitchers will then remain hitless for another 2 months at least 🙂
Am wondering if Other has a real name and why Brian would allow the author to rename anonymous?
Gee’s next start, first at bat.
Jon Niese, 5/22, single and RBI.
And it’s deGrom with a single.
Nobody saw that coming.
