In one corner we have Jay Bruce, who has hit 238 homers in the majors, was an All-Star in 2016 and who the Mets swapped two highly-rated prospects to get. He’s also showing signs of breaking out, going 3-9 with a double and a homer in his last three games. In the other corner is Michael Conforto, who was a first-round pick and who had such good success last year before struggling through most of 2016. But since his recall on September 1, Conforto has an .897 OPS in 42 PA.

Conforto is a better defensive player, more athletic, better baserunner and besides his better September OPS has two doubles and one homerun during his last eight at bats. Conforto is the Mets present and future. Bruce with his $13 option, 30 homeruns and good reputation is an option pickup and then trade.
Bruce should be a strong pinch hitting presence on the bench during the next five games.
I think TC has to pick one and roll with him.
Unfortunately, on the day Sandy traded for Bruce, the decision was made. However, Bruce then did everything on earth to play himself out of it — and Conforto did everything he could to get back on the field — but the deck is stacked.
The Boss traded for Jay Bruce.
I’m hoping for the best. It’s certainly possible.
Eight people looking pretty good after that Bruce HR
There are only 5 games left, probably only 2 or 3 that will matter.. how many ways can you even slice that up? Does it even matter if someone gets 4 starts instead of 2?
I think it mattes to the player.
