After their dramatic come-from-behind victory on Sunday in Philadelphia, the Mets came out flat Monday in the Bronx, losing to the Yankees, 4-2.

Max Scherzer, who’s never pitched particularly well against the Yankees, didn’t look sharp at all. He allowed four runs for the second straight start, which has raised his ERA from 1.93 to 2.33 in the blink of an eye.

The hitters for the most part did not grind out ABs like has been their signature all season long. The Yankees’ starter went 6.1 IP and threw 86 pitches.

The only runs came when Pete Alonso reached on an error and Daniel Vogelbach followed with a home run.

The Mets will try to take this year’s Subway Series with a win Tuesday night, behind Taijuan Walker.
