Max Scherzer posted 8 IP, 1 ER, 1 BB and 8 Ks last night versus the Astros. This is the type of start most fans envisioned from him this year. Perhaps not quite this good but in this ballpark. And not only from Scherzer but Justin Verlander, too. And fans hoped that other pitchers would sprinkle in these types of starts, as well. It’s tough to see the team have a .909 winning percentage when the starter goes at least six innings but only have 22 of those starts in 72 games.
So, do you foresee a return to form from these veteran pitchers or is it just too late?

No. This season they are very inconsistent. They either give up only one run or they give up 4 Plus runs in the game. So they are aces in one game and a back end starter in another game. Perplexing ! They are going to have more good games than bad but the consistency has escaped them.
