For the second year, we’re doing an NFL Survivor Pool here at Mets360. Last year, we did it after the season started and had just five participants. This year, we have 16 people signed up as of 10 p.m. Saturday night and there are two other people who have expressed interest, so a nice improvement from a season ago.

Bob P – For week one I chose Washington over Arizona. With Arizona missing Kyler Murray this should be a good matchup for the Commanders and probably the best week to pick them all year. I don’t know if there’s another game this season where Washington will be this big of a favorite so their future value after this week seems pretty low.

Mike W – I picked Jacksonville over the Colts. Indy is Taylorless and has an erratic rookie making his first NFL start against a probable playoff team. Look for Jax to win big.

My pick in the first week is the Vikings, who host the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers. As a Vikings fan, it’s a bit of a homer pick. But it’s as much of a pick against Baker Mayfield and the Bucs as it is one for the Vikings. Minnesota has a new defensive coordinator in Brian Flores and the expectation is that they will bring pressure much more than they did last year. How will Mayfield handle the pressure? Hopefully it leads to some turnovers and easy scores for the Vikings.

Well, that was a quick season for you Brian. I would have picked rhe Vikings too. Let’s see home many people picked KC, Seattle or Cinci.

It shows you that there is never a sure thing even without points. It’s the reason why I never bet on sports.
